Technical Manual N: 1.58

Application and sealing protocol

Molecular preservation instructions for optical media (CDs and DVDs). Perimeter sealing to prevent degradation from "CD rot" and optimization of photonic reflectance.

Methodical guide

Three stages of treatment

Stage 01

Dosing onto a substrate

Apply exactly two drops of the formulation directly onto the reading surface of the disc, keeping the tip of the dropper a short distance away without touching the polycarbonate.

Stage 02

Spread with microfiber

Distribute the product evenly using a clean, anti-static microfiber cloth, employing straight, radial motions from the center toward the outer edges, without using circular rubbing motions.

Stage 03

Hermetic edge sealing

Thoroughly inspect both the outer edge and the inner ring of the disc carrier. This perimeter barrier prevents the ingress of moisture and oxygen, which cause irreversible oxidation—also known as "CD rot."
